Excerpt from The Savvy Mompreneur’s Business SUCCESS Guide
When working from home, it’s important to manage your time and your business effectively. There simply isn’t enough time in the day to do all that we want to do, and if you have to share your time with family priorities, you want to maximize every minute.
How we manage our business has a profound effect on what we are able to accomplish, and bad time management produces stress. So where do you start? A good place to start is creating a schedule.
Establishing a work schedule will help ensure you are consistent and stay on track. One work at home mom suggests setting your alarm for the same time each weekday morning and heading to your home office/computer at approximately the same time each day.
This may mean waking up early, before the kids awake, or staying up a little late after their bedtime. You may also find that you can complete small tasks while the kids eat lunch, play or take a nap.
By creating a routine, you begin to treat your home business more like a business and less like a hobby.
But your schedule needs to include more than just business tasks. Mompreneurs have many roles they juggle and they need to stay as balanced as possible. Between all the duties of maintaining a household and running a business, it’s easy to lose focus.
So how can you arrange your day to include all of your roles and still be successful?
I created the SUCCESS plan to help me identify the tasks I need to complete for all of my roles. It also helps me to reduce stress, decrease the overwhelm, and also keeps me focused on the activities that will help make my business profitable.
The SUCCESS Plan helps me categorize what I do every day so that I get the biggest return on my time investment. No more wasting time on activities that don’t support my core values, priorities or my bottom line.
Now I’m sharing it with you…for free!
