Do you really need a business coach? The short answer is, “Yes!” There are so many benefits of coaching for business owners. Whether you are a new work at home mom or a seasoned one, the advantages of receiving home business coaching are numerous.
Okay, so you may be asking, “What difference would a business coach make for my business?” Well, here are a few benefits you can receive:
- Help you gain better clarity in your personal and business goals
- Help you move from focusing on challenges or fears to taking positive action
- Aid in setting priorities so that you have more time for yourself, your family, and others in your life
- Help you uncover your unique brand attributes
- Help you in discovering your strengths and aligning your personal and business goals with your passions
- Help in identifying your target market and creating a compelling message to reach them
- Aid you in creating a strong marketing strategy, enabling you to attract your ideal clients
With so many great benefits of coaching for business owners, why wouldn’t every mompreneur have a business coach? One of the main deterrents of hiring a home business coach is money. Many beginning work at home moms don’t have the money to invest in a coach when just starting out.
Though I highly recommend making the hiring of a business coach a priority, there are ways to get free home business coaching until you are able to afford it:
Find an Online Mentor – It starts with identifying someone in your niche that can silently mentor you, someone you follow from afar. You want to become a student of those who are, in your eyes, successful in what they do. Watch them, follow them, do what they do (as it applies to your goals), read what they read, interact with them, and learn from them. I recently blogged about some recommendations for mentors you can start with.
Follow and Subscribe – To truly benefit from your mentor’s open coaching, you need to do more than just read their posts from time to time. Be sure to stay up-to-date with their posts by following them via Facebook, Twitter, RSS and any subscriptions they offer. By doing this, you will be sure to get all of their valuable content to apply to your business.
Participate in Their Forums or Groups – Great coaching is often done in forums and groups where the mentor moderates or responds to discussion that’s generated. Join in the discussions and ask your business questions. You’ll most likely walk away with great input that can benefit your business.
Leave Comments on Their Posts – Get the most from your mentor’s posts by leaving your comments. This is a great opportunity to support the mentor and to pose a pressing question. Those who are truly successful in their industry got there because of their willingness to help others grow. So chances are they will respond to your questions to help you grow your business.
Get Their Products – If your silent mentor offers books, webinars or classes around topics that can help your business succeed, then take advantage of these resources. This may be the one area where an monetary investment is required, but the expense may be more budget-friendly and the benefit will most likely greatly outweigh the cost.
Contact Them – If you’ve done your part in showing your support of your mentor, then contacting them from time to time with a coaching question would be acceptable. However, be sure you don’t abuse this privilege.
By following these tips, you can get some of the benefits of coaching at a price you can afford. For more (free) tips on ways to grow your business, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter so you don’t miss out on future updates.
